ABOUT WORKING AS JUNIOR ENGINEER AT ESVAGT

At ESVAGT, you can be employed as JUNIOR ENGINEER in ship group 1 (over 3000 kW), depending on where there is a vacancy. You can read about the different ship groups here.

As a Junior Engineer you work in collaboration with the chief engineer and the 1st master, where you must ensure that everything mechanically on board is running smoothly and maintained at all times.
You will be part of the machine crew's regular routines, where you will have your own tasks as you become more independent.

You will also be part of the ship's emergency preparedness and participate in a number of exercises on board in fire, rescue and first aid.

As a person, you need to be solution-oriented and be able to stay calm in hectic situations. You need to be committed and curious to learn new things.

In addition, you should have an interest in Fast Rescue Boats (FRB) as well as an all-round approach to technical troubleshooting and repair. We also expect you to be able to weld.



WE EXPECT YOU TO HAVE:

• Completed the training as a Marine Engineer (STCW).
• A desire to make a career at sea, preferably with the Chief engineer role in mind.
• Valid health certificate, passport and maritime book.
• Valid Fire Fighting and Basic Maritime Safety.
• Interest in electronics, hydraulics and mechanics.
• Ability to communicate clearly and distinctly in Danish and English
• Can comply with ESVAGT's zero tolerance policy regarding drugs and alcohol.
• Possibility to sail 4 weeks enlistment (2 men share a position).
