As a Newbuilding Specialist, you will play a vital role in shaping ESVAGT’s expanding fleet, directly contributing to our continued growth and innovation in the offshore sector. We are therefore looking for a Newbuilding Specialist for our team in Esbjerg.
The Newbuilding team is responsible for managing and executing newbuilding projects and larger modifications of ESVAGT vessels. Based on the customer’s needs, company standards, and regulatory requirements, you develop and specify the foundation for specialized newbuildings. In this role, you will oversee project planning, coordinate with ship-yards and suppliers, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and support the delivery of vessels on time and within budget. Your daily tasks may include preparing technical specifications, performing technical analysis, collaborating closely with customers and legal authorities, and driving innovative solutions for vessel design and modification.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Project management of newbuilding and modification projects, including overseeing project timelines, managing budgets, and maintaining quality standards to ensure vessels are delivered on schedule and meet all technical and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare outlines and detailed technical specifications, for instance, by developing comprehensive documentation that guides shipyard activities and ensures all design criteria are met.
- Perform technical analysis and detailed investigations, such as evaluating new technologies for vessel performance improvements or conducting root cause analysis on technical issues to implement effective solutions.
- Foster close cooperation with customers, Legal Authorities, key suppliers, and other relevant stakeholders to align project goals, resolve technical challenges, coordinate inspections, and ensure full compliance with relevant maritime regulations and standards.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Qualified as a naval architect, mechanical, or electrical engineer, with experience in vessel design or engineering projects.
- Proven track record in project management, such as leading newbuilding or modification projects from inception to completion.
- Demonstrates an innovative and technical mindset, consistently seeking creative solutions to engineering challenges and vessel optimization.
- Fluent in spoken and written English and preferably Danish, enabling effective communication with international stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
- Adopts a flexible and proactive approach, readily responding to project needs and adapting to evolving requirements.
- Highly committed to delivering high-quality newbuilding projects, maintaining strict adherence to safety and regula-tory standards throughout all phases.
- Exhibits financial awareness, such as experience managing budgets or implementing cost control measures in engi-neering projects.
